Junk in the Trunk

  • Friend Plugs: If you are interested in checking out a pretty astute commentor on Pop Culture in General, you should check out You Know What I Like! (LJ Syndication information).

  • The 6th Annual Golden Tomatoes Awards from Rotten Tomatoes I've seen two of the top 5, 13 total, and three I've only been able to manage watching half of. I'm quite shocked considering I didn't see many movies this year!

  • For those of you on MySpace, there are some random celebrity profiles out there. Most of these I found through Oh No They Didn't!, and some are likely to be VERY fake, but there are a few that are legit..some that caught my eye: Dane Cook, Hal Sparks, Ralph Wiggum (ahahahah!), Steve-O and The Clit Commander Himself - Jason Mewes. Anyone else know of any fun time celebrity profiles?

  • PSA: Don't Paint Hermit Shell Crabs.

  • Quote of the Day, courtesy of Morganaus - If I were a zombie, I'd walk around saying "booooooooooooks" instead of "braiiiiiiiiiiiiiins", I think. Me too, Mary, me too....

  • Encyclopedia Dramatica

  • In the Jan/Feb (I believe) edition of Blender, the article 33 Things You Should Know About Nirvana was pretty interesting. One thing that stood out rather poignantly to me though was a quote from Courtney. Apparently both she and Kurt had been on Ritalin for most of their childhood. She then said something along the lines of ....when you grow up on something that makes you feel like that, what else are you going to do when you get older but to find something to take its place. This is so sad - while there is a huge amount of PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY involved in keeping yourself off of drugs, what chance did these guys really have? It also tells me that they likely did not really NEED the drug and that it was just a "behavior modifier" for thier parents. It makes me shudder to even think about how many needlessly medicated children there are out there, and what that medicating will do to their views on what is acceptable and necessary to live. So scary.....

  • From the LJ drama files, those of you that missed out on the 16-Yr-Old Girl Accused Of Murdering Her Mother, Here is an archive of her LJ Drama. I personally think it is just too creepy, as was reading the journal of the Alaskan guy (about a year ago?) that was arrested for arranging to meet some 15-yr old girl and the journal of someone that had killed themselves. It surely makes you want to think maybe three times about what you're posting in the ether...

  • For the Star Wars fans - Episode III: A Lost Hope

  • Is Opus Really Disappointing? - I'm not sure about you all, but my favorite all time comic is Bloom County.....and as thrilled as I was for Opus to come along, it has sorely left me wanting something....better.

  • Here's some Lego Fun

  • Want some Free Vodka? Click on the BUY section of Pravda's website.

  • Apple voted most influential brand

  • I recently found out that Shares of my LJ are being traded on BlogShares. Anyone else out there?

  • Moan Tunes anyone?

Super Bowl Bonus:, Go to Budweiser's Website click on Entertainment at the top, TV Commercials on the bottom left and then watch the commercial called Wardrobe Malfunction for the true story of what happened with Janet Jackson's "accident"..... Yes it's work safe, but it's also banned from being aired during the game! (Also available Here.)

I hope you're all having a good weekend......!
